Jupiter's Dog Beach

What better way to show your furry friend some love than a fun filled day at the beach? We all know dogs loves to mingle with dogs and humans alike and getting to do that with them on the beach is even better.

Though there are miles and miles of sandy beaches in Florida, not all of them are open to our fur babies. Some beaches, such as the Spanish River Dog Beach, allows dogs, but is only open to residents of Boca Raton. Some dog beaches require permits and could be quite a hassle. While bringing your beloved dogs with you to the beach is a privilege and not a right, it is quite disappointing and heart breaking for most fur parents to leave their dogs at home while they go have fun at the beach. It is a breath of fresh air to know that there is a beach in Jupiter, Florida that lets you enjoy that privilege without the hassle. A lot of people and dogs with tails a-wagging, from miles around, feel fortunate for this opportunity.  Let’s face it a family day is never complete without all of the family members which, of course, includes our 4 legged ones.

Jupiter Dog Beach stretches 2 and ½ miles from Marcinski Road also known as Beach Marker #25 all the way up to Beach Marker #60. People who have been coming here with their dogs don’t even have to break a sweat thanks to a spacious parking lot at the Ocean Blvd and Marcinski Road intersection and yes it absolutely free. This extraordinary place was established in 1994 and it was meant for dog lovers and their pups to spend time together on one of the most amazing places to be – the beach. Dogs at Jupiter Dog Beach can run off-leash, play in the surf, roll in the sand and play with other dogs, while their owners can bask in the sun. Here you can enjoy activities with your pup such as paddle boarding, playing fetch or simply going for a morning run or evening walk along the shores of the great Atlantic Ocean. Though the intention is all fun and games on this amazing Jupiter Dog Beach, let’s face it, when you combine people and dogs, add the sun and stir in the sand, it could add up to a recipe for disaster. Yet it’s fascinating how this glorious place is kept together day in and day out. Most of it is owed to the efforts and dedication of the Friends of Jupiter and the Town of Jupiter.  They work tirelessly to keep the beach litter free.  But, credit is also due to the beachcombers and their furry companions who practice discipline and accountability.

When the fun is done, rinse off with a freshwater shower before climbing in the car to head home.  At the end of the day, beachgoers  drive off with happy memories bound to last a lifetime and it all happened at Jupiter’s Dog Beach.
